THE FRIENDS OF HARTHILL AND CALDERSTONES PARK

Will meet at 7.15pm on Monday 12th March 2018 for the AGM followed by a talk by Colin Twist on the Orchids in the UK.  Meetings are held in Childwall Primary School on Woolton Road, Liverpool 16, the entrance to which is off Salisbury Park. TRAMWAY & LIGHT RAILWAY SOCIETY (MERSEYSIDE)

This September we are commemorating the 60th anniversary of the closing of the Liverpool Tramway. This is in conjunction with Museum of Liverpool, Merseyside Tramway Preservation & Merseyside Transport Trust. As a result, we shall be having two separate meetings in September:

 

Monday, 11th September; Rathbone Room, Greenbank Sports Academy, Greenbank Lane Liverpool L17 1AG: Frank Rogers (Chief Executive & Director General, Merseytravel) will discuss his role in the co-ordination and provision of public transport for the Liverpool city region. Please note new start time: 7.35 for 8pm. Admission £2 includes refreshments.

Saturday 16th September; Pacific Road (former tram shed), Birkenhead, CH41 1LJ: 5.45pm for 6pm. A "Last Tram" Commemoration Buffet, followed by Martin Jenkins' reminder of the trams in their final days and concluding with an evening ride on tram 245 afterwards. Everybody welcome. Woodlands Golf Classic

John Parrott will once again host the Woodlands Hospice Golf Classic at West Derby Golf Club on June 23rd 2017.  Teams of 4 are being sought for this flagship fundraising event at a cost of £249 per team.  Team fee includes welcome refreshments including bacon butty, green fees, competitions, entertainment, & two course presentation dinner.

GATEACRE SOCIETY MEETING

 

The next meeting of the Gateacre Society will be an illustrated talk by Tom Preston on the wartime comedian Robb Wilton made famous by his home guard sketch starting with "The day war broke out.". FESTIVAL OF MUSIC & THE ARTS

GRASSENDALE FLOWER ARRANGEMENT SOCIETY

 

Meeting on Thursday June 8th 2017 when Mark Entwistle from Sandbach will give a demonstration called "Art for Art’s Sake".
