An incredible year of entertainment at The Epstein Theatre shows no signs of slowing down with a whole host of brand new shows for all the family coming to Liverpool this June!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and to celebrate the occasion The Mersey Beatles will be performing the whole album live at The Epstein Theatre on Thursday 1st June.

Liverpool’s favourite Beatles tribute band return to perform at the venue named after the famed manager, Brian Epstein. This special set will constitute the first half of an unforgettable Beatles experience. The second half of the show will see the boys return in the familiar black suits of Beatlemania and via a quick change they will take the audience on a trip down Abbey Road with 20 golden greats from across the Beatles back catalogue.

Channel 5’s Milkshake! Live, The Magic Storybook will be coming to town on Friday 2nd June, much to the joy of children all across Merseyside!

Set in Milkshake’s magical bookcase, characters from The Magic Storybook will come alive from page to stage in this brand new live show which is sure to amaze and delight.

Milkshake Live stars all the Channel 5 favourites from Bob the Builder, Little Princess, Noddy, Fireman Sam and Shimmer & Shine to Pip from Pip Ahoy, Winnie and Wilbur, Wissper, Milkshake’s very own Milkshake Monkey and two Milkshake presenters!

The musical masterpiece, will take young audiences on a journey through the world’s favourite fairy tales. The Milkshake cast will be singing songs and sharing stories that audience members, young and old, will know and love.

Local singer Justine Riddoch will prove she’s Simply The Best Tina Turner tribute on Saturday 3rd June with Totally Tina.

Justine is Totally Tina and is the UK’s Official No.1 Tribute to Tina Turner as voted for by theAgents Association of Great Britain at the 2016 National Tribute Music Awards. Totally Tina’s entire Cast and Production Team have spent many years creating a show to simply ‘wow’ audiences by endless studying of Tina’s own live performances to bring you the very best, faithful and explosive tribute to the “Queen of Rock n Roll” Tina Turner.

With rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, Totally Tina sees dancing in the aisles and standing ovations everywhere it goes

Those who work together stay together, as the saying goes, and that certainly seems to be the case for actors Graham Tudor and Helen Noble who bring their next production – The Last Five Years in association with Tread Productions to The Epstein Theatre from Thursday 15th toSaturday 17th June.

The Last Five Years is a multi award-winning musical that takes audiences on an emotional rollercoaster through the heart-rending relationship of two young New Yorkers, Cathy, a vivacious struggling actress and Jamie, a hotshot up-and-coming novelist.

Follow the two of them as their stories move in opposite directions, one from heartbreak to hope and the other from hope to heartbreak and see both sides of their last five years.

After a successful 2016 visit, The Epstein Theatre welcomes back Genesis Connected for what is sure to be another full house on Sunday 18th June.

The show has an incredible mix of material, from atmospheric anthems to chart toppers that will get the crowd dancing in the aisles! Hits spanning from the late 70s onwards including Turn It On Again, Sledgehammer, In The Air Tonight, Over My Shoulder, Against All Odds, That’s All, Solsbury Hill, You Can’t Hurry Love, The Living Years and many more.

The front man, Pete Bultitude, is not only an incredibly versatile vocalist, he is also a truly gifted drummer just like Phil Collins, so expect the show to include the iconic ‘double drums’ element as featured on every Genesis and Phil Collins tour.

Toxteth born and Liverpool based singer songwriter Thomas Lang will receive a hometown reception on Thursday 22nd June with the 30th anniversary of critically acclaimed Scallywag Jaz.

Best known for the jazz-tinted song The Happy Man, which spent three weeks in the UK top 100 singles chart in 1988, Thomas Lang continues to play live with his band. He released a live albumTorch in 2014 which was recorded at Liverpool Philharmonic and is a tribute to some of his herosBillie, Ella, Frank et al.

This year sees the re release of Scallywag Jaz with bonus live tracks from last year’s sell out tour, some unreleased material and new tracks showing that his voice has stood the 30 year test of time. See it for yourself this June!

The audience will be laughing in their seats when the brand new musical comedy play Seriously Dead arrives on Friday 23rd June.

Leah Bell plays the hilarious and disgruntled little angel Thelma Henderson who arrives at The Pearly Gates only to be told that she cannot get in! She must go and wait at the nearest pick-up point - the scrap yard gates near the café of her childhood sweetheart and unrequited love, Billy Blenkinsopp, played by British Comedy Award Winner Billy Pearce.

A chain of riotously funny events is set in motion which brings the lives of bereaved but hard hearted Betty (Liverpool favourite, Crissy Rock), scurrilous bank robber Albert (Frazer Hines), Billy and the flamboyant undertaker Tristan de Winter (Paul Dunn) to an uncomfortable crossroads. Their lives become inextricably linked on a path leading them all towards the newly digitalised Pearly Gates.

Jamie Somers presents the finest night of variety in Liverpool this year with Jamie Somers and Friends Variety at Its Best on Saturday 24th June.

The show stars Searchin’, the UK’s leading tribute to The Searchers, Steve Daley as Elton John,Phil Steele – The Million $ Hypnotist, Lara Simpson – electric rock violinist and internet dance sensation ‘Lecky Legs’ and of course, Jamie himself! Book now as this is the hottest ticket in town!

Local lad Daniel Taylor stars as The Tommy Cooper Show returns to The Epstein Theatre fromMonday 26th June to Saturday 1st July.

Daniel has also recently visited The Epstein with his critically acclaimed portrayal of John Lennon inLennon Through A Glass Onion and his own production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream. HisTommy Cooper depiction promises to be the knockout performance of the year.

Between the story, the gags, the magic and Daniel’s incredible portrayal of show business legend Tommy Cooper, this promises to be a very special show. With the blessing of Tommy’s estate and his daughter Vicky, this show is not to be missed!

Theatre manager, Rebekah Pichilingi, said: “We’ve got another jam packed month at The Epstein Theatre this June.
